The NaturePicture.CZ website project was the inherent result of the need to make available to the general public, pictures of the highest quality taken by the staff of the botanical garden, our associates, supporters of the botanical garden, as well as flora lovers. Another feature common to all the authors is their passion for photography that is very far from taking ordinary snapshots.
The website photo gallery is divided into several categories. The basic sections include Plant Portraits, Our Botanical Garden, Botanical Gardens and National Parks. A botanical garden is an institution that should provide expert information and therefore, our photo gallery is much more than just a collection of nice pictures. A prerequisite is that all published images provide at least minimum information about the particular plant (i.e. its Latin name) and the location where the photo was taken.
The Plant Portrait section is designated for the publishing of photographs of plants and their details, the Our Botanical Garden section contains pictures taken in our botanical garden (i.e. the Prague Botanical Garden). The Botanical Garden section is dedicated to other national and international botanical gardens. The employees of the Prague Botanical Garden take part in numerous plant-oriented expeditions in the Czech Republic, Europe, as well as all around the world. The National Parks section is designated for them and other “travellersâ€.
We hope that the NaturePicture.CZ or the more familiar Fotkyzbotky.CZ website truly become a source of delight and edification for us all.
